My E-commerce lecturer has recently posted up a new assignment for us to complete in 2 weeks… I mean it’s E-commerce, and what do u expect to do for it actually? My first E-com assignment was to write anything abt e-commerce.. so naturally I wrote about security of online transaction but I narrowed it down to online auctions.

Okay, that was assignment 1 and it was already easy enough. Haha. A 5-page assignment about anything under the internet roof. That’s like wide enough of a topic what.

Then she post assignment 2.

The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate and compare two E-commerce sites. You and a friend are planning a trip to the destination of your choice. You will establish your own budget criteria. Your budget should include transportation to the destination, lodging for five days, and a rental car to use while you are there.

Wah. It won’t be as easy as assignment 1 but it sure is more fun than the former! I love planning trips and now I get to plan a mock trip! Hahaha..

But of cuz we need to list down the e-com factors like the loading of the page, page content, internet business models.. yada yada.. *yawn* That’s the boring part anyways. Not explaining more here.

So I choose my departure city as Singapore and arrival city as Honolulu.. hihi.. was planning on New York City but I guess there’s nothing much to see there xcept sky-scrapers here and there.. Haha.. And that’s when I found out that it’s not as easy as it seems. Yes, planning a mock trip can be pretty fun, but then astonishingly the prices of these travel agents changes like, at a click. This morning, package A costs $1817 per person, and now at 5.15pm, it costs $2570. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!

Ah, these fickle minded Americans.

Haha.. no offense, pls. But with the substandard connection in my room, I doubt I can complete the assignment with patience. Seriously. The internet died on me for 2 hours just now and when I was about to leave for the lab, MIRACULOUSLY the internet is working again and so here I am sitting in front of the comp, dressing like I’m in class. Bah.

I still like this assignment btw. Haha. Remember? I love planning trips… hihi……

With all the tickets booked and paid, I just can’t wait to pack my bags and leave! Oh wait, I’ve half a semester to survive before I actually leave. Not to mention Haliff’s sis’s wedding too! Haha.. He’ll kill me if I forget abt it..

It’ll be winter when I’m going, hihi.. I’m totally not complaining abt it cuz I’m reli looking forward to the coldness and wearing winter coats! Ooh… plus my sister bought me boots too! haha.. She said boots are perfect to wear during winter..

“These boots are made for walkin
And that’s just what they’ll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you”

Yea, this song came to my mind when i’m talking abt boots… yeeee haaaaaaaw!

I’ve checked car rentals in Aussie.. making sure of the prices and stuff so I won’t get “cheated”.. Looks like it’s reli expensive to even get an economy car to drive in Aussie.. Thank god I turned 21 last year otherwise I can’t even rent a car.. and they’ve a surcharge for customers below 24! Boo hoo. Not cheap oso u know. It’s like AUD23 perday plus daily rental of about AUD43..taxes, GST, yada yada. Looks like me and sis gotta survive by taking trains, buses and walking!

Accommodation seems a lot more cheaper and easier than renting cars. I totally love looking at the backpackers hostel that we’re renting.. And since I’m aiming for something reli cheap yet with privacy, so I’ll settle wif the backpackers hostel wif private rooms.. a little more expensive than the bunkers one but at least I’m pretty sure my stuff will be a little more safer than being shared.. Plus the Malaysia Student Dept in Aussie have hostels in Sydney and Melbourne at AUD4 per night, that’s like a totally good deal for us! :D My friend Radi in Sydney says tat the Msian Hall in Sydney is reli reli popular, esp during winter holidays, so I’ll book as soon I can get hold of a fax machine.

Plus I’ve been planning to get hold of a guide book! Should I get Lonely Planet, Frommers or National Geographic? I’ve checkout the UTP library, unfortunately they do not have anything on Aussie.. aih.. and I’ve seen the National Geographic book, it’s reli reli cool.. their photos are spectacular! But the book will be a bit heavy to carry around.. Lonely Planet will be what my friends Audrey and Reena suggest.. partial photos and words.. the one I saw on MPH Online is like 10000 pages with 193 maps! Wah. And then there’s Frommers too.. I saw a copy of Frommers on UK in the library. I must say Frommers must be the most boring guidebook I’ve ever seen. It has no photos, no maps, literally words and addresses.. however it’ll be the perfect book to carry around because it’s RELI light.. easy to bring around but I don’t like how it lacks of photos.. I bet it’ll be the cheapest as the Lonely Planet book cost around RM130.. I guess I shud “invest” in one since I’ll be literally travelling on my own without a guided tour. Won’t want to miss out on anything interesting.. :)

U may think I’m a weirdo reading my e-ticket over and over again.. but seriously I don’t care! Hihi… U may think all u want, and I’ll still be reading it over and over again with a smile in my face!

:D

We grew up watching Transformers, Thundercats, Chipmunks, Mickey Mouse, Jem, Mask, Ninja Turtles, Baja Hitam, Ultraman and Mr Bean.

We had to brush our teeths during recess at primary school? had to hold plastic cups, line up with your classmates side by side and start brushing our teeth at some open area… or maybe near some drain??

Do you still remember that we had ‘dentist’ rooms where we had to have our teeths check?

Not to forget our ‘program minum susu’ in primary school.. everybody is suppose to buy like cartons of milk that costed 30 cents.. and you would see everyone drinking it everyday…

The teachers who would want to punish us must use yellow rulers to hit us on our palms??

That a bowl of mihun soup or some soup only costed 50 cents at the school canteen…

Went to some sundry shop near the school or to the ‘roti’ man waiting outside our schools so that we can buy junk food like chickedees, mamee, Ding Dang with some toys in it, ‘Ti Kam’, ice-cream and we would play games like monopoly, uno, old maid, and all other card games like that…

Another fun time would be during Pendidikan Jasmani. the boys would play football while the girls would play netball… and it would be like we were playing in the world cup…

But of course. the best would be main guli, batu seremban, bottlecaps, ice-cream sticks, ‘Pepsi Cola one-two- three’, Cops and Robbers, main kejar-kejar duduk.. and for the not so active, those kind of ‘book games’ where we would use buku latihan to draw and ask our friends to play and also batu seremban…

Do you remember the ice-cream tubes which are actually ice and colouring that are sold for 10 to 20 cents.. the colourful ones.. where you usually bite off the top to glup it down…

What about days when we felt like doing naughty things such as folding papers so small to make ‘lastik’ and shoot each other… how about throwing chalks??

Back then, Michael Jackson was just turning white.. and still had albums coming out.. compared to CD’s, we were listening to tapes that sold for RM9.90…

In computer class, we were still using black and white computer moniters.. played ‘Atari’… maybe SEGA or NINTENDO…

Well, are we all getting older or what?

If you understand what you have read and you are smiling, then you would think of all the happy & sad memories that you have experienced when you were still a kid and would think of sending this to your old friends that you have known since forever… i’m sure they would have a huge smile on their face after reading this….

I hope you enjoyed it because I really did. :D

I’ve spent my whole morning reading Wikipedia.. There’s news on the Academy Awards… The Departed wins this and that… who and who won this and that… and I found myself browsing thru the past winners of Oscars… and then I saw something that interest me.. 1987-Best Picture: The Last Emperor.

Okay, I’m a history geek. Any interesting scandals that happens in the past always keep me occupied.

I love this movie, I love how the history has taken a twist and made one of the most powerful ruler in the world a commoner, I love how the scandals took place and I love the actors and actress in it.

But if I was Puyi back then in China, I would totally hate my life. “It’s not like I choose to be a emperor, a powerless one summore. A whole-life puppet. I bet he’ll be thinking “What if I was not born as an emperor…” “

“What if I’m not the emperor, I would be free as a man.”

“What if I’m not the emperor, I would be free to choose my wife.”

“What if …”

Honestly in life, there’s many what-ifs that cannot be solved. Using what-if to describe your life is a perfect explanation of regrets of something that had never happenned.

What if I had not chosen UTP to continue my tertiary education, where would I ended up in? What if in my first day in UTP, I did not meet “the gang”, will we ever be as close as we are now? What if my mum had never let my brother to study in Melaka?

If all the what-ifs are to happen, what do u think will happen to the world?
