I had the worst experience in Pudu ever last Sunday… Pudu is an overpacked sandwich of human beings which constantly smells awful…I never like going to Pudu, but then again, who does?
Since there’s no direct bus from Penang to JB, I had to split my journey to Penang-KL, KL-JB. When I reach KL, the sky was cloudy and moody. Hoping it won’t rain, I quickly went into the building and search for a ticket back to JB.
OMG. ALL were sold out. Tears started filling up my eyes. I called my bro and informed him of the situation. Like my mum, he said just get any ticket to come back today itself.. And so i did. After paying the shady woman an overpriced 35 bucks for a ticket back to JB at 4pm, I headed to Platform 3 to wait for my bus.
And then while waiting, I saw Zana, Haliff’s cousin! I called her and then she teman-ed me for 2 hours, while waiting for the bus. Phew! And then when her bf came, she left and I headed down to the bus platform underneath. To play safe, I asked the people there if they’re having the same ticket. It is, and I sighed, relieved.
Hell started when the bus didn’t come on time. The sky looks like it’s about to rain and the crowd is getting grumpy. The amount of crowd is around 40+ people, which made me worried. If it’s a normal Super VIP bus, it can fit around 22 people, but this is 40+ people having the same ticket!
Half an hour later, a man came and called those going to JB to follow him. And imagine 40+ people rushing out of Pudu to get a seat in the bus! Well, it’s now or never, so I took my 2 big bags and started running with them.
We had to wait outside the Hotel Katari for another half an hour before the bus came. When the bus did come, I was half-shocked, half-expected it to turn out to be a school bus. HmMm. And the running started once again, people competing to get the best seat! Gosh. I reli hate being in Pudu VERY VERY much at that exact moment.
Luckily my bag was big enough to block people and I managed to get in the bus fast enough to secure a 2nd row seat. I planted my butt on the seat and arranged my luggages. Many people were still struggling to enter the bus and 10 minutes later, the bus was packed to the max.
I slept almost immediately after the bus moved. 3 hours later, the moving bus came to a halt and that was when I woke up. Gosh, our bus was trapped in the midst of cars, lots and lots of it! The jam started in Machap and all the way to Kulai. For a usual half an hour journey, it took us triple the time! And along the jam, we saw three road accidents, one worse than the other. Can’t these people drive properly?? Must show off ka?
I reached home at 10.45pm..Thank god for reaching home in one piece, safe and sound.. I should and WILL take the flight back home next time!
